is the hand clearly not photoshopped? is this a satire? is Clinton really that much of a badass?
Blog Rules
Posted in announcement on December 8, 2008 by tmiadmin1. I will refrain from unnecessary navel-gazing
2. I will not write anything I might personally regret in 24 hours. I cannot vouch for longer time frames.
3. I will add and subtract rules as needed.
So.
Posted in announcement on December 8, 2008 by tmiadminSo I’ve started a blog. A strange thing maybe for someone who never reads blogs. Of the diary sort. Not including the blogs that serve a function – politics, music, etc. And this is most likely to be diaretic, considering i have no body of knowledge to impart.
You may have noticed the name. There are two other WP blogs – toomuchinfo, toomuchinformation, that have 0 and 1 blog posts, respectively. So I took what was available.
So.
Why bother? The usual bunch of reasons. Maybe I’ll get to them periodically, and probably they’ll evolve. In truth, I may be the only one reading this for awhile so it may not matter. No idea who would come across this thing. And it will be months before I figure out it’s broad purpose. For now, suffice it to say, it’s because I miss writing. And I miss getting letters. Email is functionary, by and large. I miss the physical artifact of letters.
So I’m writing a long letter.
Atomization or good idea?
Posted in commentary with tags social networks on January 30, 2009 by tmiadminAn admin of LabourStart on Facebook sent a message out today that “This weekend will see the public launch of UnionBook – the social networking website for trade unionists, sponsored by LabourStart.”
Having recently discovered the value of Facebook – as the tagline says: to connect and share with the people in your life – as opposed to just being crankily involved in its existence, I can see the usefulness of online social networking. [It's political organizing use should also be noted.]
So I say hooray for a forum that allows labor unionists to connect with others of their ilk.
But will Facebook (and other networking sites) lose anything by the potential sequestration (albeit voluntary) of a segment of its members?
And, somewhat unrelatedly, what about this?
